Busy weekend on roads for Clonliffe athletes

The club`s athletes took to the roads in force throughout the country over the weekend with some great runs. Pride of place will have to go to the remarkable Gary O`Hanlon who today clocked up his 6th marathon of 2013 when placing 2nd in Longford in 2.31.51. In the Longford half marathon today Tudor Mircea was 3rd in 72.36 with Declan Power 4th (73.51). Darren Reilly now looks to be getting back into his pre injury shape as he continued his come back with a win today in the Ashbourne 10k in 33.03, making it a Clonliffe one two was Ernie Ramsey 2nd in 33.45.

At the Ballyhaise 5 Mile yesterday Louise Reilly ran a fine race recording a time of 33.53 in placing 1st woman but remarkably 9th overall. Finally the Frank Duffy 10 Mile in the Dublin Marathon Race series drew a large Clonliffe crew to Dublin`s Phoenix Park yesterday morning. First home in 8th place was Michael MacDiarmada 51.45, Chris Muldoon was 38th in 56.34, with Mark Bermingham 77th in 59.19. Other Clonliffe included: Tom Sherlock 61.27, Johnny Bradley 62.51, Pat Byrne 64.13, Hans De Raeymaeker 64.28, Fergie Keenan 64.40 and Paddy Tuite 65.14. Some fine performances also from the Clonliffe ladies including a couple of pb`s : Jacqui Dunphy  68.53 (pb), Alison O Sullivan 71.24 (pb), Kerri Page 74.47, Bronagh O Hara 75.24, Grainne O Brien 92.13
