Clonliffe athletes medal in Morton Stadium at Leinster Schools

There were medal winning performances from a number of Clonliffe athletes at today`s Leinster Schools Track and Field championships in the Morton Stadium. The first winning strike came courtesy of Elaine Begley taking bronze in the senior girls 400 hurdles in a time of 65.8. Bronze also from Eoin McCullough in the senior 2,000 SC (6.33.68). Cathal Doyle also took bronze in the junior 1500m converting his excellent cross country Winter form to the track running a time of 4.27.94. A great run also in that race by David O`Hanlon finishing in that very unlucky 4th position, David never really got a clear run in the race finding himself bumped and bored throughout. Another very good race betwwen Clonliffe team mates was in the minor boys 800 where Greg Hossenny also won bronze (2.20) with Sean Carrig two places back in 5th.

Well done also today to our other athletes in action, who finished out of the points paying positions: minor girls Alanah Cooley , Juniors girls Stephanie McCaul and Sally Aherne, U/16 Miler Rachel Murray, Joseph Hession in the minor boys 1,100 and both Sean Carrig minor long jump and Paddy O`Hanlon junior long jump. Well done one and all.
