Clonliffe Juniors in Northern Territories raid (plus more)

A bunch of the Clonliffe Junior cross country squad travelled to Blackrock, Co. Louth for last night`s Blackrock 4 Mile, a race which has searved as a season`s opener for the juniors for the past couple of years. It was a very successful outing for the group as all competed very well with some fine performances indeed. Cathal Doyle ran a super race to finish 1st junior and 5th overall in a very impressive 19.49. Brian Flanagan ran 20.21, for 2nd junior and to complete the Clonliffe Junior sweep Eoin Keating was 3rd in 21.58. Others Joseph Hession 22.45, Alex Gibbons 22.17, Thomas Ward 22.19, Kevin McKenna 23.44.

The junior women were also in top form Hope Saunders had a great run taking 3rd place in the lady`s race in 22.33. Laura Tuite was 2nd junior woman 25.54 with Alannah Cooley 3rd 26.29.

At today`s big Dublin Road Race the Rathfarnham 5k club 10,000 champion Tom Sherlock was the club`s first finisher in 24th place in 16.05. Others: Davy Byrne 16.14, Sean Doran 16.38, Thomas Frayne 18.19, club ladies 10,000 champion Rachel Wisdom 19.14, Trevor Wisdom 19.28.
