Clonliffe take Blackrock 4 Mile by storm plus round up

Joe Cooper took his junior Panzer division north of Santry last night for their annual sortie to the Blackrock 4 Mile road race. Again it was another very successful outing for the group in their first race of the winter season. The squad was lead home by Cathal Doyle in 4th place (21.18), Cathal leading the team in 4th, 5th Adam O`Brien 21.34, 6th Sean Carrig 21.57 and 7th Joseph Hession 22.08 to take team honours. After thses four their were very positive results all round: Alanah Cooley 2nd woman 42nd overall in 26.04 and Amy Fay 3rd (44th) in 26.07.

Others: 15th The Mauritian Express Greg Hossenney 23.05, 22nd Thomas Ward 23.46, 29th Paul Courtney 24.33, 35th Matthew Jenkinson and 36th Fintan McManus.

Also yesterday Liam Roarty was competing in England in the Midland 6Mile Road Relay for Cheltenham Harriers, where he has relocated for study purposes, a successful debut by Liam recording a time of 19.42 for his leg and recording the fastest  leg for his team as they finished 25th from a 96 strong field.
