Clonliffe take seven medals in Leinster Schools

Day 2 of the Leinster Schools in Morton Stadium saw some fine medal winning performances from Clonliffe athletes today. Andrew Heeney won the senior boys high jump with a best of 1.80m to take a fine win. Ian Guiden was also in good form taking silver in the senior 5,000 lobbing some six  seconds off his recent PB running 15:58.22. Second also for Megan Coomber in the inter long jump with a great new PB of 5.40m, only 4 cm off gold.  At inter level Ryan Whelan was the javelin winner with a throw of 47.40m. Aaron Hanlon was a run away winner in the inter 1500 in 4:01.82. A walk away winner also today was Ryan Cleary in the inter 2,000 race walk 10:03.56. Keith Pike was up again some top quality opposition in the senior sprints taking a fine bronze in the 200m (22.52) and 4th in the 100m. That unlucky 4th position also for young Greg Hossenny in the minor race walk and for Shauna Reilly in the inter 300m. Well done to all our athletes over the two days of competition you`ve done your club and schools proud.
