Donegan and Rogers claim 1 2

Feb 6, 2010 [Jeremy Lyons] Dave Donegan struck gold in the Men Pole Vault with a clearance of 4.85. He also came close to 5.00 on his last attempt. Ian Rogers had an indoor PB of 4.50 to claim silver in a great day for Clonliffe on the runway.

There was a huge shock in the Mens 400 when Brian Gregan misjudged his pace and failed to qualify for the A Final. His time of 49.76 will see him line up in Sunday’s B Final. John Fagan finished 2nd in his heat in a time of 51.26 while Ciaran Mackey finished 3rd in his heat in 52.02.

Conor Healy looked very comfortable in qualification in the Men’s 1500. Healy was 3rd in 4:04.05 and is in shout of a medal in Sunday’s final. Louise Reilly was 7th in the women’s 3000m in a time of 10:00.93.

Patrick O’ Conner progressed to the Semis of the Mens 60m when winning his heat in 7.19 while Conor Coleman had a great run and a return to form when finishing 3rd in his heat in 7.24 but was just outside qualification. Orna McGinley was 2nd in the heats of the Womens 400 in a time of 62.78 only missing out on the B Final by 0.21 seconds.
