Dublin Cross Country Championships Final Instructions

Clonliffe Harriers AC are delighted to host the Dublin Juvenile uneven ages, Junior and Senior Cross Country Championships on Sunday, thanks to the assistance of Fingal County Council in Santry Demesne Park. In conjunction with the Dublin Athletics Board the following final instructions will help with the enjoyment by all of these championships:

Date:   Sunday November 2nd

Venue:    Santry Demesne Parkland at rear of Morton Stadium Santry.

Time:        Juveniles from 11.00 a.m.

Juniors/Seniors  from 1.25 p.m.

Check in: An appointed official from each club should collect envelope with numbers/pins with a list of your athletes from Cecil Johnston on Sunday morning. Numbers for Junior
athletes can be collected from Pat Hooper or official designated to look after Senior/Junior entries

 Officials Parking:  Clonliffe Harriers Morton Stadium Santry. Please obey the directions of the parking attendant.

Venue Parking: Gate no. 1 (the city side gate) Morton Stadium, no parking on the avenue in the stadium. Please obey the parking attendant. Once this car park is full please use the car park at Crowne Plaza or one of the retail/industrial parks. The Gardaí will not permit any car parking on the Swords Road. (if you park there most likely you will be ticketed!)

Santry Demsne Park:  Please note that on the instructions of Fingal County Council the park must not be use for event parking. This is reserved for patrons/users of the Park. Please co operate with these instructions for Fingal.

Toilet facilities:   Are located under the stand at the Clonliffe side of the stadium.  Toilets are also located at the main reception area at the stadium.  Access to the main reception area is through the outside doors.   Please note that the indoor section of the stadium is closed.

The Track:     THE TRACK MUST NOT BE ENCROACHED UPON BY ANYONE.    THIS IS TO PROTECT THE TRACK WHICH WILL SUFFER SEVERE AND PERMANENT DAMAGE IF SOMEONE WAS WEARING CROSS COUNTRY SPIKES.   THEREFORE, THE TRACK IS CLOSED.    IT IS VITALLY IMPORTANT THAT YOU ADVISE YOUR ATHLETES THAT THEY ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE TRACK.

Entry to Venue:    Via Morton Stadium.  Please use the gate at the 100m start line at the phoenix monument.

Litter:    As we have use of Santry Demesne Parkland thanks to the generosity and co-operation of Fingal County Council we would implore you to appoint an individual/individuals to be responsible for the removal of all litter generated by your athletes.  Please bring a sack for litter. Your co-operation in this connection is vital.

Health and Safety:   Please obey the instructions of all marshals at the venue.  Marshals will be clearly identifiable as they will be wearing high vis vests.

Medical Emergencies:   St. John’s Ambulance will be in attendance.

Assistance with stewarding: Any Clonliffe Harrier prepared to give up a few hours please report to the clubhouse for 10.30am. Course builders from 8.00am please.
