Greta runs Rio 1500 A standard at Versities

At yesterday`s Irish Versities Championships Greta Streimikyte ran a new 1500 pb of 4.56.37 and more importantly the A standard for the Rio Paralympics. This was an outstanding run by Greta, who last weekend won the 1500 at the IPC Grand Prix Meet in Italy, and today took a huge chunk off her pb to grab the A standard for Rio.

Other Clonliffe ladies included Leah Bergin running a fast semi in the 400 of 59.94, and although making the final clearly had a problem and is recorded as a DNF, likewise Sophie Ellis ran 60.95 to qualify for the final but DNS. Emer Treacy qualified for the 800 final after a 2.26.80 run in her heat and then placed 5th in the final (2.24.97).
