The Clonliffe Javelin throwers had their first taste of outdoor action in Morton Stadium today at the Athletics Ireland Spring Throws Competition under the watchful eye of coach Bart Rogers. Reports are of a good workout for all after a long Winter of strength and conditioning training, with no competition for these past six months plus. Ryan Whelan recorded a best of 49.46. Next best was Stephen Bailey with 38.78 followed by Denise Byrne with an encouraging 38.11 and then young Andrej Ludova 37.71. Bart expressed his satisfaction on an encouraging start to the season by the group considering that all have been boxed in for several months and that things look good for the months ahead.
