Top of the Clonliffe class today at day 3 of the National Juvenile Indoors at Athlone IT was Jonas Norvaisas who took the boys U/14 shot title with a massive 12.66, 30cm ahead of second place.
On the track Cian Bolger ran an indoor pb in the 800 heats of the boys U/17 800 of 2.01.91 in a blistering heat 1, for 3rd place. A few hours later Cian went even quicker 2.00.06 and more importantly national silver to go with his 1500 silver won last week. Also in the 800s Hannah Browne ran a pb of 2.25.80 in finishing a fighting 5th place in the U/18 final. Another athlete in pb mode was Naoise Cullen a fine 2.36.18 in her U/14 heat. Our other 800 girls were a little off form today Ella Brown 6th in her U/16 heat, Emma McDonnell 8th and Aoife Hession 8th in their U/15 heats. Jonathan Fitzsimons places 6th in his U/13 800 in 1.44.43.
In the 200s Ciaran Gartland ran well to finish 2nd in his U/18 200 heat (23.46) Rapha Diamond-Ebbs ran 26.29 and Rebecca Fitzsimons 26.35, however the days work for all finished with their heats.
