Message from the President

Clonliffe are hosting the Dublin County Cross Country Championships in Santry Demesne on Sunday November 5th. Our brief is to construct the course – we will need as many volunteers as possible to assist with this so it can be done as quickly as possible. We do of course have the usual hard core group willing and able but any new recruits would be very much appreciated. One of the challenges with this event is that many of the people who do this work are also club coaches looking after teams on the day……even they can`t be in two places at once!

In addition we need some stewards to assist with the event in particular we will need some on course marshals and we will also need people to man the finishing chutes, if possible female members.

The event will start at 11 a.m. with the juvenile championships, the juvenile championships will be concluded at 1 p.m. and then the junior/senior championships takes place until approximately 3.30 p.m.

I am asking for club members to get involved, if you have never gotten involved in this before it can be a good day out and is pretty rewarding.

Can you please email the club secretary  noel.guiden@behans.ie to confirm your availability.

I would ask that you do not assume that one of your fellow clubmates will be available.  Time and time again we have the same people helping out and to be frank it is a little unfair that the burden always falls upon the same few.

We are a big club and all I`m asking for is that you as a member make yourself available for a few hours to assist your club.

Clonliffe Harriers is your club too!

NIL DESPERANDUM,

Paddy Marley. Club President
