National U/23 One Two in Long Jump plus round up

There was a Clonliffe Long Jump one two in Athlone today where the National U/23 Indoor Championships took place. Keith Marks took the win and in the process wiped Niall Counihan`s week old club indoor record from the record books as he set a new mark of 6.95m to add to his club outdoor record. Rolus Olusa took silver with a 6.87m best. Leo Morgan placed 6th with a 5.86m best.

In the 60m Rouls after a 7.30 run in his heat went faster in the final, 7.21 to place 7th. Leo Morgan ran 7.01 in his heat but didn`t start the final, while Pierce Friel ran 7.42 in his heat.

Aaron Hanlon ran a big pb in Boston yesterday at the Terrier Invitational Indoors for Providence College clocking 14.27.01. Aaron`s time was some six seconds faster than his outdoor pb.

At the Raheny Axa 5 Mile today there was almost 50 Clonliffe athletes running, far to many to mention (full results on www.myrunresults.com) fastest three were: Sean Doran 23rd in 26.16, Conor Keane 27.38 and after last week`s heroics Karl Nolan with a new pb of 27.59. Fastest Clonliffe lady was Ailish Malone 30.05, followed in by Emma Cooper and Aisling Andrews.

In the pre 5 Mile juvenile mile (ages 13 to 16) Abbie Sheehy was 4th with Katie Halpin 5th.
