Round up: Hanlon for Friars, League and Raheny 5 (updated)

The weekend round up starts across the Atlantic at yesterday`s Terrier Invitational at Boston University where Aaron Hanlon opened his indoor season. A positive opening run by Aaron for Providence placing 9th in 8.25.17.

Round 2 of the Indoor League took place in Athlone. At the end of the day the men are joint top with Tallaght on 98 points. Andrew Heney took the high jump with a 1.85m effort. 3rd places were added in by Sean Carrigg in the 1500 (4.17.55) and Stuart Roche in the 200 (23.29). Young Joseph Hession was 6th in the 400 with a 55.08. Chris Sibanda guested in the 200 recording 22.36.

The women`s team also competed well Ayrsa Jerumbauskyte winning the triple jump (11.48), Emma Kelly was 3rd in the 400 (62.46), 3rd likewise for Emear O`Brien in the 1500 (4.44.42) and 9th for Diana Markina in the high jump (1.25). The women are 4th team. Both squads have thus made the League final.

Today`s (Sunday) action included the Raheny 5 mile with some 35 Harriers going to the line lead home in 8th place and 1st O/40 Killian Lonergan in 25.22, 50th was Dave Brady 28.02, 58th Michael Cassidy, 62nd Sean Doran 28.24, 96th Conor Keane 29.12.
