Round 9 – Grand Prix Series / Incorporating Club Championship 800 Metres – Morton Stadium – Thursday – 8pm, Report by Liam Hennessy as follows;
The Grand Prix / Club Championship 800 Metres took place Thursday on the track. The weather was excellent -18 Degrees / Dry / 85% Humidity. The 800 Metres was run over five races. It was terrific to see such a turnout and there was a real sense of excitement surrounding every race, as runners attempted to achieve new pb’s on what was a superb night for running.The Mens Club Championship proved to be very close with Sean O’ Leary just edging it in a battle with Greg Hosseny and Sean Doran hot on their heels in third place. In the Womens Club Championship the race proved to be most competitive with Emer Treacy winning the race by just over a second from Ciara Peelo and Emma Kelly another second back in third place.
