Round up: Sergiu back to winning ways, Gregan at Penn

Sergiu Ciobanu was back in action on Thursday winning the Faugheen 5k in 15.02, a 30 second plus winning margin, in Carrick-on-Suir. This was Sergiu`s first race since he pulled out of the Rotterdam Marathon at around 30k feeling the effects of a virus a few weeks back. On the subject of Marathon`s an excellent run by Clonliffe old boy Josphat Boit in Monday`s Boston Marathon recording a time of 2.12.52 in placing 11th.

Also in the US good to report that last weekend Graham Mahon after a long period on the side lines was back in action for Clarke University at the Good Friday Open at the University of Dubuque. Graham was 5th in the 800 in 2.03.33.

At the Penn Relays today Brian Gregan ran a positive 400m leg of 46.31 on the Irish team of Paul Robinson, John Coghlan and John Travers that finished 3rd behind USA 1st and Australia 2nd.
