Sergiu Ciobanu has just crossed the line at the Berlin Marathon as 2nd Irishman in a time of 2:15.14, which is inside the standard for next year`s Olympic Marathon! Afterwards Sergiu told Clonliffe Harriers that he was “Thrilled, a PB and Qualification standard!” Sergiu had run the perfect race, with unbelievably identical splits 67.37 for first half and 67.37 for 2nd, as he knocked 13 seconds off his best.
Another Clonliffe man in Berlin was Gary Murray who ran 2.21.09.
