Sergiu wins Connemara marathon

Apr 12, 2010 [Noel Guiden] Making it yet another marathon win on Irish soil over the weekend was Sergiu Ciobanu taking the Connemara Marathon yesterday in a time of 2:31 a winning margin by a huge fifteen minutes. Another win marked up on his ever expanding CV, Connemara joining Belfast, Dublin, and Longford on the Sergiu hit list. Great run also in Connemara by Clonliffe new boy Mick Harkin recording a PB of 3:42.19. News also of Brian McMahon who was due to run the Paris Marathon yesterday is that although Brian travelled to the French capital and indeed warmed up for the race a knee injury which had flared up this week was still acting up and as a result Brian decided not to risk doing further damage and did not start. A brave decision and no doubt he is currently scanning the net for another Marathon over the coming weeks
