The National Junior & U/23 track and field took place in Tullamore yesterday. In the Junior championships Adam O`Brien took 5000 silver (15.56.66) and Craig Giles bronze in the 800. Craig ran 2.00.97 in the heats in the morning and 2.03.45 in a tactical final later in the afternoon. While in the 1500 Sean O’Leary was 6th (4.07.77)
In the U/23s again a tactical 1500 saw a last lap burn out with Cathal Doyle flying over the final 200 to grab national bronze (4.14.90). Bronze also for Simon Galligan in the hammer (57.10m). In the 800 Emer Tracey was 6th (2.26.53)
