Snezana bags three National Masters titles in Athlone

At the National Masters Indoor Championships at Athlone IT today Snezana Bechtine was the undoubted star of the show as she took all three O/35 sprints titles back to Santry. Snezana won the 60m in 8.09, the 200 in 26.26 and 400 in 58.90. Ciara Peelo was runner up in both the 200 (7.91) and 400 (61.95), both were new PBs for Ciara. Snezana`s 400 and 60m, where National Master`s Indoor records, two of three Clonliffe Master records set on the day.

Marcin Klinzow was equally impressive and in record form as he set a new Irish Master`s O/35 High Jump record of 1.86m, bettering the previous record by a massive 23 cm! For good measure Marcin also won the shot with an 11.60m best.

Gold also for Matt Slattery as he won the O/65 200 in 28.98. Pat Davoren took silver in the O/40 3000 in 9.28.8. Tom Monks was just out of the medals in the O/55 category as he placed 4th (11.36.67).

In the 800 Philip O`Doherty took O/55 silver with a 2.18.92 run, while George Maybury was 3rd in the O/60 race (2.37.64). Fergal O`Shea was 5th in a very competitive O/50 category (2.15.22) a new PB.

Aideen Brady bagged O/35 bronze in the O/35 1500 (5.36.28), and was 7th in the 800 (2.38.23), both new PBs. Finally Ronan Gately, in what is his last outing in the Clonliffe colours took O/45 High Jump silver (1.50m).
