Weekend Roads Round up: Inis Oirr and Battle of Clontarf

The Sherlock brothers made their annual trip to the Western Islands this Easter weekend for the Cleasathon Inis Oirr 7k and 10k. Needless to say being out in the Atlantic Ocean the course was as beautiful as it was tough. Huge hills, close to 400m elevation to be endured by the 10K runners, all of 100 less in the 7k, making for a pretty savage race. The boys came out on top once again. Tom had it all his own way in the 10k race with a gun to flag win in 36.40, whilst older brother Niall had to battle all the way as he made it a Sherlock and Clonliffe double winning the 7k in 26.30.

On the subject of battles Clonliffe athletes took to the roads of Clontarf/Raheny for the Battle of Clontarf 10m, this was also the Leinster 10 Mile Championship. First club man home was Dave Brady 12th in 58.40. Others Maurice McCrohan 66.43, Alan Worrall 66.50.
