Young Clonliffe middle distance runners Cathal Doyle and Adam O`Brien today received the call for International duty. As a result of their superb performances in Saturday`s Aviva All Ireland Schools Cross Country, where Cathal was 2nd with Adam 7th in the Junior race both will represent the Irish Schools in the Aviva SIAB Schools International Cross Country. The event takes place on Saturday March 31st at Strathallan School, Perth, Scotland. This first International call up for the lads is a fitting reward for all the hard work and effort put in over the Winter months. At tonight`s training the announcement that Clonliffe Harriers have two new International athletes was met with a great round of applause from the training group, all of whom were thrilled for the lads, mind you they still got stuck into them big time on the roads around Santry!
