Last evening on the ALSAA track the 2023 Grand Prix Series commenced with the Frank White 5 Mile. Some 28 athletes competed under sunny chilly conditions.
Ger Kirwin posted the fastest time of 27.47. Lee Duddy in second place with a time of 28.05 knocked 90 seconds of his previous best time. Anto Doran ran a creditable 28.15 for third place.
In a very competitive race, Aine McCann won last night’s Grand Prix and the Frank White Trophy. Pat Devitt was second and Eoin Rafter was third.
The prize giving ceremony took place in the Clonliffe Harriers Club House. Many thanks to Caroline Tuite for organising refreshments and spot prizes and the Club members who officiated on the night.
McDonald Cup 4 Mile ALSAA – Thursday 28th April 2023 8pm
The next Grand Prix race will be the McDonald Cup 4 Mile which will be held on the ALSAA track on Thursday 28th April 2023 at 8pm. There is still plenty of time to enter the Grand Prix. Just complete an application form with the relevant fee and return to any Committee member or bring it to the next race.
