Clonliffe`s Bernie Byrne continued her record breaking track season at last night`s Dublin graded Meet in the Morton Stadium. A few weeks ago Bernie set a new O/50 National 1500m mark in Tallaght. At last night`s meet in blisteringly hot conditions she came down in distance to the 800 with the same outcome: a new Irish master`s O/50 record of 2.25.98.
Also competing last night were Kris Valter who won the 800 A race in 1.53.00, Andriu Jenkinson was 4th (1.56.16). Tom Sherlock ran 2.06.92, Liam Roarty 2.08.79, Ross Kearney 2.09, Paul Courtney 2.16.15 and eric McGovern 2.27.23.In the 5000 Edgars Sumskis after his pb performance in Sunday`s National 1500 finished 2nd in a fast 14.55.95. Eimer O`Brien was 2nd in the 3000 in 9.57.38 with Louise Reilly 6th (10.08.03)
The sprinters were also in action Chris Russell ran 11.11 for 3rd in the 100A, Stuart Roche was 5th (11.36) and Paul Whelan 6th in same time. Pierce Friel was 2nd in the 100B in 11.54.
In the field events National Champion Ian Rogers won the Pole Vault with dave Donegan 3rd. Simon Galligan was 3rd in the hammer 60.01, Michael Curley 2nd in the shot (10.08). 2nd in the women`s hammer with 44.38 was Caoimhe Morris and Frances Mansfield threw 17.64.
