Big Clonliffe numbers for Dublin Master`s XC

There is an entry of some 50 Clonliffe athletes for Sunday`s Dublin Master`s Cross Country in St. Anne`s, Raheny making it one of the largest Clonliffe contingents for any event, excluding Juveniles. With the Master`s teams split into several categories and of course the various age categories several of the black and amber athletes will fancy their chances of Dublin medals.

Names to watch out for in the upper ages include European Masters cross country bronze medallist and club Master Athlete of the year Pat Bonass in the O/70s, multi track national champion Matt Slattery (O/60) and also the youngsters: Clive Ahern, Eoin Murray, Mark Bermingham and so on.

The women`s squad has been shaping up nicely and features amongst the 20 plus athletes Tara Whyte, Maura Matthews, Clodagh Moriarty and Emma Cooper. Certain to be in the running for honours is Bernie Byrne who on the track last season set Irish O/50 records over 800 and 1500.
