The Dublin juvenile track and field championships day 2 took place this evening in Morton Stadium. Clonliffe athletes mainly competed in the middle distance events. At the end of the evening Orla O’Sullivan took a fine bronze in the U/15 800. Naoise Cullen then did likewise in the U/16 800 with Amy Sheehy in a very solid 5th place. 5th place also for Jack Woods in the U/16 boys 800. Other notable performances include Ethan Somula winning his U/12 600 semi final to qualify for the final in a weeks time.
Sarah McDonnell and Rebecca Walsh both had great runs tonight and are through to the final of the U13 girls 600m. Likwise Sorcha O’Connor is through in the U14 800m with Hazel Kenny also running well 7th. Jonathan Fitzsimmons was 6th U/14 800. Other U/12 athletes were Harriet Kenny in 600m and Long Jump. Cara Connolly in U/12 600m, Conor Tynan, boys U/12 600m, Ali Connolly missed out on time for final of U/13 600m. Cathal o’neill U/13 600m.
