There’s a very busy weekend of championship activity this weekend. On Saturday the cross country season comes to an end with the All Ireland schools cross country championships at Galway racecourse, master athletes have the national Masters indoor Championships taking place at TUS Athlone that same day and then on Sunday it’s the national U/20 and U/23 indoor championships also in Athlone.
At the all Ireland schools cross country many of the clubs top young middle distance athletes will be competing including the senior girls race Emily Bolton and Lorraine O’Connor and in the senior boys Lorcan Benjacar, Matei Ursachi and Tom Breslin to name but a few. The Clonliffe master athletes enjoyed an excellent Leinster indoors last weekend and many of those athletes will be in Athlone on Saturday.

Then on Sunday it’s back to Athlone once again for the national U/20 and U/23 indoor championships. Several of our athletes are doubling up between the all Ireland schools and then these Championships the following day.
