At this morning’s Olympic Games in Paris Cathal Doyle (Picture by Sportsfile) made his debut at the pinnacle of the sport competing in heat 1 of the 1500. In what was a very ‘messy’ race the fast finishing Clonliffe man got himself up into 9th place in a time of 3.37.82. The heat was won by Josh Kerr (GBR), with 6 to qualify from each heat, there are now no longer any fastest losers going through so Cathal will have another opportunity of getting through to the semifinals in tomorrow evenings Repecage races. On what was a tough morning all 3 Irish representatives will in fact be competing tomorrow.
