Cathal bows out with brilliant PB run (plus round up)

Cathal Doyle’s fantastic NCAA season came to a battling end at the 1500 semi finals of the NCAA Finals in Eugene, Oregon last night (June 8th). Drawn in heat 1 Cathal did the most any athlete can ever do performing better than ever before and on the biggest stage of his career to date. A 3.39.21 PB for 8th place in his heat. To put that in context over the 2 semi finals Cathal recorded the 11th fastest time overall. Furthermore Cathal over the short period he has been with the University of Portland has gone from 3.43 to 3.39.21 and for the 3rd successive race has set a new record for The Pilots.

Meanwhile in Bermingham at the BMC Gold Standard Meet last night Jayme Rossister was 5th in the 3000 SC in 8.58.89.

The sole Clonliffe Harrier at last night’s Dublin Graded last night in Tallaght was the extraordinary Frances Mansfield commencing yet another season of hammer throwing: 15th with a 17.18 best.
