At Wednesday night’s OPW 5K trail run in the Serengeti (sorry the Phoenix Park – it just looks that way at the moment!) Clonliffe athletes managed to outrun the lions and record a one, two in the latest BHAA Summer Series with Sean Doran 1st and Tom Sherlock 2nd. By all accounts it was a tough battle in the blisteringly hot conditions over the 5K route with the two club-mates battling it out until Sean kicked with 200 to go to take the win. Also in the race was Yvonne McDonagh who was 2nd woman O/40 and Anne Lyons 2nd woman O/50. Slightly further back was Colm Doran in 108th position.
On Thursday Eoin Taggart had an excellent run in the Docklands 5 k Road Race to finish in 5th place in 15.52. Also at the Clonee 10k 11th David Brady 37.11, Rachel Eustace was 34th over all and 4th women in 39.41, with Alan Worall running 42.16.
