The IUAA Track & Field Championships took place at the Mary Peters Track this weekend. Friday, Hubert Adamczyk took bronze in the javelin with a 46m throw, another new Clonliffe man Henry Higgins collected a 2 second PB over 400 clocking 50.88 in his semi final. Molly Haslam was 4th in her 200 heat (26.76) and 6th in the 100 (13.06). Jack Maughan was 6th in his 1500 semi (4.07.47).
Saturday Sarah Bateson was 8th in the 3000 (10.40.21) in windy conditions. In the 5000 Stephen Cashin was 10th in 15.24.83. Also at the championships Molly Haslam was on the TCD 4 x 100 team that placed 4th. In the 4 x 400 (mixed) relay Henry Higgins was on the TCD team that finished 5th.
To finish the University weekend it’s over to up State New York where Craig Duffy opened his outdoor season at the University of Rochester Alumni invitational taking 1st place in the 100 in 11.00 and in the 200 made it a double winning in 22.07, which is a regional qualifying time.
