Clonliffe at Varsities Road Relays

The IUAA Road relay championships took place in the picturesque surroundings of South Campus, Maynooth University, County Kildare today in fine autumnal conditions. In the women’s road relay there are a number of Clonliffe athletes, Clodagh Nolan was on the TCD ‘B’ team that finished 12th, clocking 6.27 for the 1 mile approximate final leg. Jools Hughes was on the Queens ‘B’ team that took 15th, Jools ran the 2 mile leg in a time of 12.53. On the TCD ‘C’ team Jess Gallagher was on the 4th leg clocking 6.05 as the team finished 17th. It was 19th position for TCD ‘D’ where Chloe Heaslip ran 5.55 on the opening leg. Sarah Bateson for the home team, Maynooth, that place 21st, ran the 2nd leg recording a time of 12.37.

Brothers in arms!

In the men’s race Oren Kenny completed the 5th leg for TCD ‘A’ in a time of 5.00 as his team placed 7th overall. Evan Lynch leg 1 5.43 onto Jack Woods for TCD ‘B’ , 2nd leg 10.55 as their team finished 16th. Lee Duddy was also on the 2nd leg duties for Maynooth recording a time of 11.29. Cillian Keegan on the DCU ‘C’ ran the 3rd leg in 16.39 and on the TUD team Andrew Gaffney completed the 5th leg in 5.27. Niall McCaffrey Queens “B” leg 1 5.52, Cillian Sheeran DCU “D” 3rd leg (12.37).
