The 5th Dublin Graded Meet of the season, incorporating the Dublin Track and Field Championships, took place in unseasonably hot and muggy conditions in Tallaght last night. It was a breeze free evening which was conducive to fast times.
There was a small sprinkling of Clonliffe athletes on the night and all performed very well with several Clonliffe wins.
Starting off with the sprints Emma Kelly won the combined Women’s B and C 200 in a time of 27.21 with Emer Treacy 5th in 29.04.
In the 800s Hannah Browne had a fine win in the B race in a new PB of 2.24.61. There was an excellent run in the A championship race from Eleanor Alexander who placed 2nd in 2.14.66.
In the Men’s 800 Shaun Conaghan was a powerful winner of the B race leading most of the way in 2.03.31. An off form Cian Bolger was well off his best in the A race, recent layoff from injury clearly taking its toll.
Thomas Sherlock delivered the 4th Clonliffe win of the night winning the B 3000 in a time of 9.27.61 and in the A 3000 Liam Roarty ran 9.00.13 to finish 4th, Sean Doran ran 9.36.38 to finish 9th and Alex Gibbons was 10th in 9.38.96.
