Clonliffe athletes make a big contribution as team Ireland leads

It was a big day for team Ireland in today’s 2nd day of the European team Championships. They were major contributions made by the 2 Clonliffe athletes in action the Irish team today. In the 4 x 100 relay Chris Sibanda ran leg 3 on the Irish team of Israel Olantunde, Mark Smyth, Chris and Joseph Ojewumi as the Irish team took 1st place in a time of 39.57. In the 1500 Cathal Doyle ran a fine race to finish 2nd in a time of 3.43.36.

At the end of day 2 team Ireland head the standings, 7 points ahead of Austria with 25 of the 37 events now gone as the team heads into the final day tomorrow in Poland.
