Clonliffe athletes show steel in Sheffield!

Two Clonliffe athletes opened their indoor season over the course of the weekend and by coincidence both in Sheffield.

Rolus Olusa competed in the England Senior combined event Championship over the course of Friday and Saturday putting in the following performances: 60m – 7.21, High Jump – 1.86m, Pole Vault – 4.00m, Long Jump – 6.61m, Shot – 11.98m to finish the competition having amassed over 5000 points to finish in 12th position.  Unfortunately the official results do not show his actual points tally as Rolus was a guest in the Championships.

Eoin Pierce raced on Sunday in the BMC Sheffield Grand Prix over 1500 placing 7th in the A race in 3.55.30.

(Note to coaches and athletes: It would be very helpful if you could text 087 9599 888 or email noel.guiden@behans.ie with your results on the day of competition setting out the event you competed in, your time/performance and place – with athletes competing indoors, cross country, on the road throughout the length and breadth of the country and further afield it is impossible to keep track.  Please don’t be shy in sending on your results).
