While the school`s cross country may only have concluded with last Saturday`s School`s International in Santry yesterday, also in Santry, the school`s track and field season got underway with the All Ireland CBS Championships. There were several Clonliffe boys in action, mainly in the red and white of St. Aidans. There were distance wins for Cathal Doyle in the 3,000, only a matter of three weeks ago Cathal led the Whitehall outfit to the Holy Grail: All Ireland Senior Cross Country, and Sean Carrig in the inter 3000. Also in the senior 800 Joseph Hession took 2nd with Greg Hossenny, accepting that while “these boots were made for walking” spikes are made for running, placing 3rd. In the inter 1500 another silver and bronze race with Alex Hogan 2nd and Sean O`Leary 3rd.
