The Clonliffe men made it a clean sweep in this evening’s Seamie Weldon 5k road race in Ardee. From the off Ian Guiden, Efrem Gidey and Colm Rooney took off dominating the proceedings. Over the final km Ian did his best to drop his team mates but Colm’s superior 1500 speed paid off as he won in 14.36 with Efrem 2nd 14.39 and Ian 3rd 14.40. With Ben Guiden 6th in 16.30, and 2nd junior, Clonliffe took the team title. This was also the first time both Guidens ran on the same Clonliffe team!
On Sunday, the 8th Sean Doran was 2nd in the Lucan Harriers 5 mile (25.55).
