On “Liberation Day” there was a good crew of Clonliffe athletes competing in the River Rock Queens 5K in Belfast (April 2nd). Helena Butterly had another PB outing clocking a time of 16.51 while taking 4th position in the women’s section of the elite race. A huge PB for Evan Lynch of 15.54, going sub 16 for the 1st time, in 46th. Lee Duddy was hot on his tail in 48th, in fact Evan only got the jump on Lee over the final 80m or so, Lee clocking a time of 15.55. Jack Woods ran 16.08, Damien Prendergast also ran a big PB of 16.30, Niall McCaffrey 17.24, Chloe Heaslip 20.20 and Ben Power 20.43. In the 2nd 5k race Andrew D’Arcy ran a time of 23.07.
