Clonliffe High Jump record set at Sydney Track Classic

Liam Zamel-Paez set a new Clonliffe High Jump record of 2.20m in Australia yesterday March 15th when winning the high jump competition at the Sydney Track Classic, bettering Simon Phelan`s existing club record by 4 cm. Liam opened with a clearance of 2.12m, passed the next height and then cleared 2.20m. We was close on his three attempts at the European Qualifying standard of 2.26. He will look for the standard at his next competition most likely the Brisbane Classic.

Liam is a former Australian champion (2009) with a 2.29m pb, set last year. He joined Clonliffe Harriers late last year and was recently cleared by the IAAF to represent Ireland.
