Clonliffe hosting Leinster Schools Cross Country C’ships

Clonliffe Harriers will on Wednesday, February 8 once again host the Leinster schools cross country championships in Santry Demesne. Clonliffe have played host to do this championship for the past decade or so. It is one of the highlights on the club calendar to have so many young athletes from schools all over Leinster competing in our back yard.

There will be 8 championship races starting at 12 noon with the minor girls race over 1500, the championship concluding at 2:25 PM with the senior boys race over 6000. Clonliffe will be responsible for the safe hosting of the event, the course construction and deconstruction and for marshalling duties. It is as always a big undertaking with the best part of 1000 young athletes competing. We are putting out the word now to establish whether you might be available to assist, midweek of course will not suit all but it may suit some. Course builders will be required from 8 AM and then official/marshals from 11 AM for a pre-event briefing. If you can help by offering your time please contact Noel either by email – or 0879599888.
