The final round of the Dublin Juvenile Cross Country league took place this morning in the Phoenix Park. As always in the Park there was a testing course for these young athletes with the infamous hills to be negotiated on each lap and as always there was a stiff breeze to be enjoyed. Thankfully the rain of the last few days was gone replaced by a nice Autumn day and the dark clouds which held the threat of rain proved to be no more than an idle threat.
The Clonliffe athletes today were in the U/9 to U/14 groups as the older ages look towards their Dublin Championships in two weeks time. As expected there were some fine performances from the club`s athletes as they look to impress the selectors with places up for grabs on the championships team, including an excellent 3rd place in the boys U/9`s by Jonathan Fitzsimons, and several top 10 finishes including Killian Forrester boys U/12, Abbey Sheehy in the girls U/12, Aoife Hession girls U/11 and David Tuite boys U/13.
