Clonliffe juveniles back on the country

Gladys Cooper reports: The first cross country race of the season for the juveniles, the Dublin Juvenile League Round 1, took place in Lusk North County Dublin yesterday the 17th. There were with great Performances by our young athletes starting with the U/9 boys and girls all of whom are new members of Clonliffe in this their first competition. Next up was the U/10 boys and girls all competed with great enthusiasm, followed by our U/11 girls and boys. Both of these teams are getting stronger by the week this was particularly noticeable this morning. Isaac O’Neal led the way from the off in the boys U/11 race and managed to hold on to his position throughout to take first place. Next to toe the line was  our U/12 boys and one U/12 girl who like the rest of their team mates ran extremely well. Then the U/13 boys girls, Eoghan Thomson came away with a great second place in a very tight U/13 race. In the U/14 boys race Cillian made a great debut race on the country. A number of these athletes competed in the Griffith Ave race in the afternoon also ,so well done to all who competed in events this weekend .
