Eugenia Bateson reports: A beautiful day today, September 18th, in Lusk saw Round 1 of the league and the official start to the Cross Country season for our Juvenile section.
Approximately 100 of young athletes put on the Black and Amber from the ages of U9 to U16.
Our U9 boys and girls opened the event in their 400m race. Strong starts by all and impressive finishes..U10s saw two of our girls in strong to 20 finishes as they weaved their way around this challenging course. U10 Boys were strong and brave with excellent finishes.
Distances became longer with each age group and our finest athletes represented the club well today. We had athletes in all ages right up to U15 boys and girls and good runs from U16 girls
An excellent day for all, gaining invaluable experience which was for many, their first cross country outing- once they don’t think Cross Country = sunshine, solid ground and beautiful surroundings it was a worthwhile event. They could be in for a bit of a shock!!!
Well done to all athletes who competed. Details of Round 2 coming soon.
