It was indeed Super Saturday for Clonliffe Harriers in Santry Demesne for today’s club cross country Championships. The juveniles of course hit the ground first, just to churn up the mud left from Sunday’s Dublins, to ensure that it was nice and sticky for the seniors/Irwin Cup at noon.
Thankfully it was dry, but it was cold and breezy, and it was of course soft underfoot, just the way this hardy bunch of Clonliffe juvenile athletes like it. The proceedings got underway at 11.00 am sharp and as promised by Gladys the juvenile championships for 2019 were done and dusted by 11.45. There was a very good turn out of young athletes and supporters and all had a fine time. As always these boys and girls competed hard and fairly with their usual good cheer doing themselves proud. Congratulations to each and everyone.
