Clonliffe men rock at National half marathon

The Clonliffe men added the national half marathon title to the national cross country title this morning in Dublin’s city centre. The national championships were run in conjunction with the Rock and Roll half marathon series and thus enjoyed a record entry. Gary O’Hanlon lead the black and amber home with an excellent 3rd place finish in a time of 67.34. Next in was Michael MacDiarmada 6th in 68.22 and Tutor Mircea completing the scoring trio in 9th in 70.44. The team thus took the title ahead of Rathfarnham. The women’s team did not fair out as well at all and placed out of the medals. The first three home were Marie Byrne 88.22, Fionnula Doherty 89.03 and Jacui Dunphy 94.18. In the masters section Declan Power successfully retained his O/40 title, no team result yet for masters team of Declan, Chris Muldoon and Mark Birmingham.   results on www.athleticsireland.ie soon.
