This weekend saw a fantastic performance from the Clonliffe Mens Intermediate Team to win team Gold in the National Cross-Country in Dungarvan, Waterford. Conditions were good for running (not too boggy) and fairly cool.
The team members were William Stafford, Kevin English, Robert Malseed, Eddie Coughlan and Chris Sheals. Support was provided by Club Captain Joe Cooper, Terry and Eugene Coppinger. It is ten years since we won the championships and it was a compact display from all the lads with Robert 17th, William 26th, Kevin 29th and Eddie 34th. This was an outstanding run by Ed, considering it was his first ever cross country race – well done again lads.
Our Ladies team were in action also with Mags Greenan coming in for a deserved Bronze medal in the O45. Finishing strongly in the womens race also wereChrissie and Bronagh.
