Clonliffe Paddy’s Day parade through Tallaght (Updated women awarded silver!)

A contingent of 21 Clonliffe Athletes made their way across the M50 to take place in the Tallaght 5k
which also doubled as the Dublin Novice Road Championship. There were strong teams in both
men’s and women’s team. The race started at 10:00 am and took the traditional left handed loop
route from Tallaght AC track outwards Tymon park before returning on the Greenhills road.
First home in a pb time of 16:00 was Mahad Mohamed in 10th place, followed by Cathal McHale,
Fintan Kerins and Sean Heaslip Owens in 11th , 12th and 15th place respectively. The ladies were led
home by Yuliya Tarasova in a 97th place in a time of 18:35, followed by Ciara Peelo in 115th and
Clodagh Galvin in 124th .

The Men’s team were 1 st in the Open Team event on 48 points and 1 st in the Dublin Novice on 22 points. The
Novice team was Mahad, Fintan Kerins, Sean Heaslip Owens and Sean Carrigg. The ladies were 3 rd in
the Dublin Novice on 44 points, taking Dublin Bronze. The Ladies Novice Team was Yuliya Tarasova, Ciara Peelo, Clodagh Galvin and Aisling Andrews.
In the Categories Mahad Mohamed was 2nd Junior and 3 rd in the Novice. Ciara Peelo was 3rd in the F40
and Jean Carr 2nd in the F60 in a very impressive time of 22:00.

Update Saturday the 18th, the Novice Women have been upgraded to silver. There was an eligibility issue on another team resulting in the results being amended. Congratulations to our “Silver Ladies”.

Also taking place today was the Mullingar half marathon where Karl Nolan finished 4th in 72.44 and Noel O’Dwyer ran 1:30.33. At the streets of Portlaoise 5K Stephen Lyons finished 45th in 16.46.
