Clonliffe/Aidans lead CBS charge in ALSAA

Alan O`Neill reports: Fantastic day in ALSAA for the Rice Cross Country (the All Ireland CBS Championships). Winning end to a winning year for the St. Aidans squad driver by the men of Clonliffe Harriers on a wonderful day for Cross Country.

The St. Aidans Minors snuck home in 3rd, Juniors were led home by Clonliffe men Dermot Buckley and Aaron Nnadi to win the Junior. U/ 16s beaten into 4th on count back. There was a great run in this race by Ian McAlweeney (Ard Scoil Ris) to take 3rd place. The Aidans Inters were beaten by a strong Naas team to get silver. Daniel Lacey led the team home in 3rd, with Cian Bolger 4th and Jordan Byrne right behind in 5th. The senior race saw Sean O` Leary continue his great season`s form to win in a perfectly executed move. Joe Hession and Fintan McManus hung onto him for 3,500m with Joe coming in 3rd as St. Aidans took the senior team title and best overall school.
