Clonliffe`s Cian McLoughlin in World 20k

Oct 9, 2006 [Noel Guiden] At the inaugural IAAF World Road Running Championships held in Debrecen, Hungary, yesterday, Sunday the 8th of October, Cian McLoughlin finished in 57th place in a time of 62:22. The race was run on a 4 x 5 KM loop. Race winner was Zersenay Tadesse of Eritrea, in a world class time of 56:01, thirteen seconds outside of Gebrselassi’s world record. Kenya’s Robert Kipchumba was 2nd in 56:41 with Wilson Kiprotich Kebenei, also of Kenya, 3rd in 57:21. In the Women’s World Championship Race there was a World Record for Holland’s Lornah Kiplagat 63:26, taking 5 seconds off the existing World Record of Paula Radcliffe.
