Clonliffe’s O’Hanlon plays part in world marathon record

Gary O’Hanlon ran the first leg on a new world record breaking team at University of Limerick yesterday as part of a fundraiser for a local Limerick charity, Cliona’s Foundation. The team that set the new marathon relay record ran a time of 1.56.54.

Also yesterday young Liam Roarty now back in Sunderland for college, competed for Sunderland Harriers in a 3k cross country relay at Durham Cathedral. Liam led out his team completing the first 3k in a time of 9.59, the Harriers finished 11 overall and 5th in the senior men’s table. Next up for Liam will be the Northern Cross Country Championships in West Yorkshire on the 24th of January.
