Clonliffe’s O’Hanlon plays part in world marathon record

Gary O’Hanlon ran the first leg on a new world record breaking team at University of Limerick yesterday as part of a fundraiser for a local Limerick charity, Cliona’s Foundation. The team that set the new marathon relay record ran a time of 1.56.54.

Also yesterday young Liam Roarty now back in Sunderland for college, competed for Sunderland Harriers in a 3k cross country relay at Durham Cathedral. Liam led out his team completing the first 3k in a time of 9.59, the Harriers finished 11 overall and 5^th in the senior men’s table. Next up for Liam will be the Northern Cross Country Championships in West Yorkshire on the 24^th of January.
