Oct 31, 2011 [Noel Guiden] Alistair Cragg came to Portsmouth yesterday for the Great South Run to test his current form as he prepares for December 4th Fukuoka Marathon. A great run from Alistair saw his finish 3rd in 47:14 behind pre race favourite and world 10k and 15k record holder Leonard Koman (46:18) and Abel Kieui (46:40) and ahead of 2010 European 10,000 silver medalist Chris Thompson (48:01). Alistair now looks forward with confidence to Japan in about 5 weeks time and hopefully that Olympic Marathon qualifying time of 2:15.
News also of the Clonliffe pair currently “on tour” in Canada after posting good half marathon and 8k times respectively Michael mcDiarmada and Becky Woods took in the British Columbia Cross Country Championships over the weekend with both recording excellent runs. Michael finishing 7th in the men`s race with Becky 10th in the womens.
